Our 2022 highlights in numbers

Updated: Jan 11, 2023

Our team delivered 24.000L of its flagship, biocementation grout agent and served geotechnical, special foundations and geo-environmental projects in the cantons of Zurich, Fribourg, Bern, Geneva and Vaud (Switzerland), as well as in Vienna, Austria.

We helped contractors improve ground properties to safeguard critical infrastructure, among which cohesion, friction angle, compressive and shear strengths. To learn more, download our data sheet below:

We partnered with Quantis International to establish a Life Cycle Assessment of our flagship, bio-cementation product. The carbon emissions of biocement, linked to its production, application and disposal are found to be 55% lower compared to traditional cement grouting destined to ground modification.

MeduSoil further received certification according to CEN/TR 17105:2017, validated by Eurofins. This norm, which applies to all construction products and assesses their environmental impact, is becoming an emerging prerequisite for construction in Europe and in the rest of the world, leading the way towards sustainable transition in geotechnical and geoenvironmental works.

We were awarded an Innovation project from Innosuisse worth 700'000 CHF and joined forces with SUPSI to deliver on three milestones related to boosting our current production and developing our future product portfolio.

MeduSoil joined a consortium led by Amberg Engineering, including Holcim Switzerland, Mobbot, Pagani Lafranchi, Bilger+partner and the Hagerbach Test Gallery. The consortium jointly submitted a project concept to tackle the management of 23 Million tons of excavated soil that will be generated between 2030-2038 during the construction of CERN's Future Circular Collider.

We welcome in our team two new colleagues! Roberto will strengthen our daily production capacity, logistics as well as on-site customer support. Laure leads our admin and finance divisions under an increasing volume of activities related to our growth.

Media and events

The Swiss-Romand journal 24heures presents a portrait of our company and its brand new, pre-industrial production plant in Morges.

TEDx publishes a stirring talk given by our cofounder on why living systems can be the key to rethinking the ways and the materials we build with.

Our team participated at the ÖGT / VÖBU Fair in Vienna, Austria, and presented its solutions to key partners in the DACH region. In the same conference, our co-founder, Lyesse, received the prestigious Vienna Terzaghi Lecture and presented the research and technology transfer milestones that remain at the core of MeduSoil.

Our team won the IMD EMBA startup competition and traveled to Silicon Valley, California, to discover the multiple dimensions of the world's hottest deep tech innovation capital. From testimonials of local contractors, to stimulating exchanges with regulators and investors, this trip offered multiple stimuli to shape the future of our company targeting global reach.

MeduSoil SA was represented at the Triathlon of Lausanne by four team members who ran the relay and individual distances. We fought with the rough lake waves, cycled up and down the steep Lausanne streets and ran by the lake, all this followed by well-deserved burgers.

Innosuisse selected MeduSoil among the Top10 #Swisstech startups and our team travels to Stockholm and Helsinki for Slush2022, the world's largest tech gathering.

This end of the year finds our team having received triple ISO certification and quadrupling its production capacity to 4000L / month to meet demand. We are further launching a new logistics and storage zone in Yverdon, Switzerland, to support our operations.

We are grateful to our partners, customers and colleagues who made this year an extraordinary one. We enter 2023 with full steam ahead! From team MeduSoil, our warmest wishes for happy holidays!
