We have applied medusoil's biominerals to dozens of different geologies, from silty sands to sand-gravel mixtures.
SANDSTONE CLIFF REINFORCEMENT
scope: Bio-cementing a weathered sandstone cliff zone which was subject to erosion and losing natural cementation. To rebuild the lost natural cementation, biominerals were used and the process was monitored via non-destructive seismic, electric and GPR.
INCREASING BEARING CAPACITY
scope: Targeting bio-cementation of a very loose sand-gravel mixture up to a depth of 2 meters. Improvement was determined using light dynamic sounding penetrometer which is as accurate and reliable as the cone penetration test (CPT). The dynamic resistance of the cone (qd) is calculated based on a Dutch formula.
Medusoil's reactive technology is integrated into a conventional geosynthetic 3D element. The result? A stronger, cohesive geomaterial with increased soil-geosynthetic adhesion and incomparable erosion resistance.
